Day two was different for Luke. His pain medications changed, making him extremely drowsy all day. Our apologies to several of our visitors who didn't get to see much of Luke. He was so sleepy. Because of this it looks like his departure from DeVos will be pushed back to Monday, as he still needs to spend time moving around in the hospital before he'll be able to go home. Sunday visitors are welcome.
Our circumstances are so difficult and bizarre. We see God everywhere in all of this, and yet it's so hard. Our hearts are so heavy for Luke...our prayer is simple: God heal our boy. (James 5:14-16) We are so blessed to be able to process all of this with dear friends. Today I was able to spend a chunk of time with Mark, and last night spoke with Brian as well as with my old YL leader Brad Johnson. Laura sat for a long time with Debbye and Ronda, and was able to speak on the phone with her longtime friend Carissa. You all are helping us so much, all of you. We really need your prayers.
We'd prefer a different path, but continue to be comforted by Luke and by Romans 8:18: "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us."
